Ingredients
  

The Cornbread

  • 1 cup gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey

The Butter

  • 1 package Kerrygold butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and grease an 8x8 square baking pan. Set aside.
  • Whisk together the sugar and melted butter in a large bowl.
  • Add the egg and honey and mix.
  • Now add the dry ingredients. Add the gluten-free flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt. Fold the mixture together.
  • Pour in the whole milk and whisk until there aren't any clumps.
  • Pour the cornbread batter into the 8x8 prepared baking pan and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the cornbread from the oven and let cool before slicing it into squares.
  • Use a fork to mix the softened butter and honey together in a small bowl.
  • Grab your board and layer the butter in the middle using a butter knife and top with flaky salt and a drizzle of honey. Pile the cornbread on the sides of the board.

Notes

Make sure to use room temperature butter to make the honey butter.
