Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • Toppings optional: crushed nuts, shredded coconut, sea salt

Instructions

  • Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them in half lengthwise.
  • Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  • Assemble the Banana Chocolate Bark: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the banana halves on the parchment-lined baking sheet, cut side up. Pour the melted chocolate over the banana halves, ensuring they are fully covered.
  • Add Toppings (optional): Sprinkle any desired toppings, such as crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or sea salt, over the chocolate-covered bananas.
  • Set the Chocolate: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 20-30 minutes, or until the chocolate has fully set.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Once the chocolate is set, break the banana chocolate bark into pieces. Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Notes

Choosing Bananas: Use ripe but firm bananas for the best texture and flavor.
Melting Chocolate: Be careful not to overheat the chocolate. If it becomes too hot, it can seize up and become grainy.
Storage: This banana chocolate bark is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days if needed.
