Equipment

  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Small spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh figs stems removed and thinly sliced (about ⅛-inch thick)
  • 1 cup dark or milk chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • Optional garnishes: flaky sea salt crushed pistachios, edible gold leaf

Instructions

  • Prep the figs: Wash figs gently and pat dry. Remove stems and slice thinly (about ⅛-inch thick).
  • Create the flowers: On a parchment-lined baking sheet, arrange 5-6 fig slices in a circular shape to resemble petals. Place a smaller slice or a piece of fig skin-side up in the center as the "flower heart."
  • Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each until smooth and glossy.
  • Add chocolate to flowers: Using a small spoon, pour a small pool of melted chocolate into the center of each fig flower. Let it spread naturally to anchor the petals.
  • Optional garnish: Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle flaky sea salt, crushed pistachios, or place a touch of edible gold leaf for an elegant finish.
  • Chill to set: Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until chocolate hardens.
  • Serve: Gently remove from parchment and serve immediately.

Notes
