Ingredients

  • 4 large oranges
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips or chunks gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • ½ cup macadamia nuts finely crushed

Instructions

  • Prepare the Oranges: Peel and separate the oranges into slices. Pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Melt the Chocolate: Combine dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth.
  • Crush the Macadamia Nuts: Place nuts in a resealable bag and crush with a rolling pin or heavy pan.
  • Dip the Orange Slices: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Dip each orange slice halfway into the melted chocolate and place on the sheet.
  • Add the Crushed Macadamia Nuts: Sprinkle the crushed nuts over the chocolate-dipped portion while still wet.
  • Set the Chocolate: Refrigerate the baking sheet for 20-30 minutes, or until the chocolate sets.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Remove slices from the parchment paper and arrange on a platter. Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Notes

Choosing Oranges: Use large, juicy oranges for the best flavor and texture.
Melting Chocolate: Be careful not to overheat the chocolate. If it becomes too hot, it can seize up and become grainy.
Storage: These chocolate-dipped orange slices are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days if needed.
