Homemade Blueberry Tru Fru (White & Dark Chocolate Dipped)

These double-dipped frozen blueberries offer the perfect combination of juicy fruit and crisp chocolate shell - just like the famous Tru Fru brand but made right at home!

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries washed and dried completely
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips or chunks
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions
 

  • Line a baking sheet or plate with parchment paper and set it in the freezer to chill while you melt the chocolate.
  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate in 15-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
  • Stick a toothpick into each blueberry. Dip each one into the white chocolate, gently tap off the excess, and place onto the chilled parchment. Freeze for 10–15 minutes.
  • In another small bowl, melt dark chocolate the same way.
  • Once the white chocolate is set, re-dip each blueberry into the dark chocolate, covering the white layer. Tap off the excess and place back on the parchment.
  • Freeze for at least 20 minutes until fully set. Enjoy straight from the freezer for the classic Tru Fru texture!

Notes

Storage:
Keep in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 month.
Tips:
Ensure blueberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent the chocolate from seizing
For smoother dipping, add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to each type of chocolate
Let sit at room temperature for 1-2 minutes before eating for optimal texture
