Equipment

  • High-speed blender - Essential for creating the smoothest texture without strawberry seeds. You can also use a food processor.
  • Yogurt tubes - I recommend the linked ones for the best outcome.
  • Small funnel - Makes filling the tubes mess-free and easy. Comes with the linked yogurt tubes.
  • Measuring cups - For accurate ingredient proportions

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
  • 2–3 tablespoons water (adjust as needed for blending)
  • Optional: 1-2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup if using plain yogurt

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until completely smooth. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, if needed to thin it out for easy pouring.
  2. Taste and adjust: If you want it sweeter, add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
  3. Pour the mixture into reusable yogurt tubes, small freezer-safe bags, or popsicle molds.
  4. Freeze for at least 4–6 hours or until fully set.
  5. Serve straight from the freezer as a frozen treat, or let thaw slightly for a softer texture.

Storage Tips

  • Refrigerator: Store filled yogurt tubes in the refrigerator for up to 3 days
  • Freezer: Freeze for up to 3 months
  • Lunchbox: Place frozen tube in lunchbox in the morning - it will thaw to perfect yogurt consistency by lunchtime!

Variations

  • Berry Blast: Replace banana with additional strawberries or mixed berries
  • Tropical: Use mango and pineapple instead of strawberry
  • Chocolate Banana: Skip strawberries and add 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • Green Machine: Add a handful of spinach (kids won't taste it!)
  • Protein Boost: Add one tablespoon of chia seeds or hemp hearts1

FAQ

Can I use regular yogurt instead of Greek yogurt?

es! Regular yogurt works fine but produces a slightly thinner consistency. The tubes will still freeze beautifully.

How do I prevent leaks in the lunchbox?

Make sure to leave about ½ inch at the top of each tube for expansion when freezing, and double-check that the caps are sealed completely.

Can I use fresh strawberries instead of frozen?

Absolutely! Fresh strawberries work just as well, though the consistency might be slightly thinner.

Are these dairy-free?

This recipe contains dairy, but you can substitute coconut yogurt or almond milk yogurt for a dairy-free version.
