Who wouldn't want a DIY heart candy box for Valentine's Day? Let me show you how to make them. There are a lot of Valentine's Day DIY projects, but I think this one is my favorite.
This project requires two things. First, you need to secure some heart boxes. I used some acrylic ones from Amazon, but I've seen them at Dollar Tree, too. The boxes don't have to be acrylic either. You can totally use cardboard heart boxes. And, of course, you need candy!

Why Should I Make This Craft?
Homemade gifts are always a great gift idea! I love this idea because you can really make it your own. Mix and match the candies, decorate the boxes, and add little messages to a note attached to the ribbon.
Where do Chocolate Valentine's Day Boxes Come from?
Did you know the first heart-shaped chocolate box was invented in 1874 by Richard Cadbury? It's true! We have him to thank for all the heart-shaped chocolate boxes on the shelves today.
The Materials
- Heart-shaped boxes
- Valentine's Day candy
Instructions
- First, line up all your Valentine's Day candies. I like to use little glass bowls to separate all the candy for easy packing.
- Line the boxes up on a baking sheet without the lids.
- Fill the boxes with different Valentine's Day candies.
- Put the lids back on top of the boxes, wrap them in ribbon, and give them to all your friends!
Optional Add-ons
Liners for the bottom of each box. You can use tissue paper, paper grass, or mini marshmallows to fill the bottom of the containers. You can also use cupcake liners in a pinch.
How to Decorate Your Little Candy Box
A fun part of this project is decorating the candy boxes. You'll need to use your imagination to come up with ideas. You can add stickers, ribbons, and bows to your boxes to make them extra special for Valentine's Day.
