I just love a chocolate orange combination. I think it tastes so fabulous and fresh! Plus, I'm still recovering from COVID so I'm trying to eat a lot of vitamin C. Did you know orange peels have 3X the amount of vitamin C that the inside of an orange does?

I added some unsalted roasted almonds to the chocolate bark for some protein and crunch, too. This chocolate bark is only 3 ingredients and is the perfect treat for after school, long afternoons, and all occasions in between.
Is there anything better than an easy dessert that has some health benefits, too?

Ingredients
This orange almond chocolate bark recipe only has 3 ingredients.
- Dark chocolate: I use Lindt 70% dark chocolate bars for this recipe. They're easy to melt and taste wonderful.
- Orange peels: just use a peeler to peel two oranges.
- Unsalted roasted almonds: I love almonds, but you can easily use hazelnuts, peanuts, or any other nut instead.
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
Prepare a quarter baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Peel two oranges using a vegetable peeler. Set the peels aside.
Roughly chop the chocolate and pour it into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high at 30-second intervals for 2 minutes, stirring in between.
Pour the whole almonds into the bowl of melted chocolate and stir.
Pour the chocolate almond mixture onto the parchment paper-lined baking sheet and use a spatula to spread evenly. Top with the orange peels.
Chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes before roughly chopping the chocolate bark.
Store at room temperature in an airtight container.
Hint: You need a really good vegetable peeler to peel the oranges. This is a great one.
Substitutions
- Almonds - use any type of nut if you don't like almonds or don't have them handy. Think of nuts like cashews, hazelnuts, and pistachios.
See this Valentine's Day version of my chocolate bark HERE.
Variations
- Salt - you can add a sprinkling of flaky sea salt on top of the chocolate bark to bring out the chocolate flavor even more.
Equipment
- Glass mixing bowls - my favorite set is on sale right now on Amazon.
- Rubber spatula - a must for this recipe.
- Baking sheet - necessary for making this chocolate bark recipe.
- Precut parchment paper - I love precut parchment paper for all recipes.
Storage
Store the chocolate bark at room temperature in an airtight container for up to five days.
Top tip
Roughly chop the chocolate bark -- no need for the pieces to look perfect.
